Fall Updates
Test Optional Continues
SAT/ACT scores will not be required for students applying for Fall 2024, Spring 2025, Fall 2025 or Spring 2026 admission. Students who choose not to submit test scores will not be disadvantaged and will remain eligible for merit scholarships.
Students who choose to submit SAT or ACT scores may share either self-reported or official scores. Students who self-report their scores will not be required to submit official score reports unless they are admitted and choose to enroll.
Coalition Application Now Accepted
Syracuse University is now a member of the Coalition Application and accepted first-year and transfer applications via the Coalition Application for Fall 2024. We will also continue to accept the Common Application.
Teacher Recommendations
We have updated our required number of teacher recommendations from two to one. We continue to also require one counselor evaluation. Students may submit more than one teacher recommendation if they wish.
Early Decision II
We now offer an Early Decision II (ED II) option for applicants, the deadline for which was Jan. 5, 2024. By applying ED II, your students will affirm that Syracuse University is their top choice and receive an admission decision by early February.
Please encourage interested students to apply ED II and contact us if they have any questions. If a student has already applied to Syracuse for Regular Decision and is now interested in ED II, they may email us at orange@faroor.com to indicate their wish to be considered for Early Decision II. They will also need to submit the ED Agreement.
Campus Visitation
The Office of Admissions welcomes students and their families to schedule an in-person campus visit. Please visit our Tour Campus webpage for registration information. In addition to student-led tours, we also offer self-guided and virtual tours.
Students are also invited to join us for one or more of our virtual sessions, including general information sessions and school/college sessions. Additional themed sessions and student panels will be added throughout the semester.
We invite counselors to contact their regional representative to schedule a visit or other virtual program.
Personal Interviews
We continue to offer optional personal interviews to any interested applicant. All interviews are conducted virtually via Zoom and are available from July through mid-December.
